Text messages

MakerPickup is operated by Skip The Line, Inc.

What the program is

MakerPickup takes orders for small makers — bakers, potters, growers — who sell at farmers markets and from their own porch. When you buy from one of their shops you can ask to be texted about that order. That is the whole program: order updates, to the person who placed the order, about the order they placed.

Messages come from MakerPickup on behalf of the shop you bought from. There is no marketing by text, and we do not text anyone who hasn’t bought something and asked for it.

How you opt in

At checkout, under the email field, there is a tick box. This is it, exactly as it appears there:

It starts unticked, and it stays unticked unless you tick it. Nothing about your order changes if you leave it alone — the confirmation and the ready notice both go by email as well.

What you’ll get, and how often

• A confirmation when your payment goes through, with your order number.
• A message when the maker marks your order ready to collect.
• If the maker moves the pickup date, a message saying so. If you never collect, one reminder.

About 2 messages per order, and none between orders.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message. That stops texts immediately and for good, and you don’t have to explain. We also honour STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT.

To start again, reply START or UNSTOP or YES, or tick the box again next time you order.

Reply HELP for help, or email hello@makerpickup.com and a person will answer. Stopping texts never affects an order you’ve already placed.

Costs

We don’t charge for messages. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your plan and carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your number

Your phone number is used to send you the messages described above and for nothing else. We do not sell or rent mobile information, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. It is shared only with the maker you bought from, so they can reach you about your order, and with the messaging provider that delivers the text on our behalf. See Privacy for the rest.

Supported on major US carriers. Message delivery depends on your carrier and we can’t guarantee it — which is why every message we send by text is also sent by email.
